
Final First Friday Art Trail at Broadway Contemporary Marks Emotional Farewell After Five Years
Broadway Contemporary Fine Art Gallery (1919 Broadway) will host its final First Friday Art Trail at its Broadway location this week, marking the end of an era for one of Lubbock’s most community-focused art spaces.
First Friday Art Trail is February 6, from 6 to 9 p.m., and will feature local artist Kristian Jenkins as the gallery’s Featured Artist of the Month.

Final First Friday at the Broadway Location
After five years in its Broadway space, Broadway Contemporary Fine Art Gallery announced it will be closing this location as the lease comes to an end and the building is sold. The February First Friday Art Trail will be the final public event held inside the gallery.

Established in 2021 by owner Janelle Barrington Spivey, Broadway Contemporary represents over 30 local, national and International artists. Featuring around 200 works of original art, making Broadway Contemporary Fine Art Gallery one of the largest collections of art in West Texas.
Featured Artist Kristian Jenkins
The final show will spotlight the work of Kristian Jenkins, a Lubbock native and Texas Tech graduate. Her paintings feature bold, expressive color, as seen above.

What's Next For Broadway Contemporary?
While the physical gallery space is closing, Janelle shared that she will continue her own creative journey and plans to host at least two group shows each year, along with additional community-focused events still in development.
