High temperatures this week have so far been in the 70's. Not bad at all for early January when we should be much cooler. And for those who want cooler weather, the good news is that we are about to get it. But what about snow? Is it in our forecast?

Snow Is Possible, But North of Lubbock

As cold fronts come our way, we will see high temperatures in the Lubbock area go from 76 on Wednesday to a high of 50 degrees on Saturday. There is a chance of rain Wednesday night into Thursday, but temperatures will be nowhere close to freezing if and when that rain happens.

According to KLBK any snow that does fall will be short lived and well north of Lubbock into the Panhandle.

A Nice Cool Down For Lubbock

While there is no snow in the forecast for Lubbock, temperatures will fall and expected to be more seasonal for a while. Let's not forget, it is still winter so temperatures in the 50's is actually pretty good for this time of year. It could be a lot colder.
